Why did you become a pharmacy technician?
I became a pharmacy technician shortly after graduating from high school. At that time, I worked in a grocery store where I was exposed to various departments, including pharmacy. Through that experience, I developed a growing interest in pharmacy, particularly in how it supports patient care and contributes to overall health outcomes. During my four years in college, working as a pharmacy technician allowed me to develop critical skills such as time management, multitasking, communication, and problem-solving.

What are you most proud of in your professional career?
I am most proud of where I am today and the journey it took to get here. It reflects years of dedication, persistence, and a willingness to step outside my comfort zone. I take pride in the continuous learning that has shaped my path, whether by gaining new technical skills, strengthening my leadership abilities, or adapting to new challenges along the way. What means the most to me is accomplishing goals I once set for myself, especially those that initially seemed out of reach.
What is your most memorable experience as a pharmacy technician?
As someone who leads a team of pharmacy technicians, my most meaningful experience is working alongside my team to support our patients. Whether it’s ensuring medications are prepared accurately and efficiently, resolving issues, or stepping in to help during busy or challenging times, those moments when we come together to accomplish what’s needed for patient care are incredibly rewarding.
What career advice do you have for others interested in becoming a Pharmacy Technician?
My advice would be to approach it with an open mind, because it is a field full of opportunities and possibilities. Working as a pharmacy technician can open doors to a variety of career paths, from retail to hospital pharmacy to specialty areas, operations, leadership, and even further education within healthcare. With my educational background in HR, I initially never thought I would stay in pharmacy and do both of the worlds I love, pharmacy and HR.
