Why did you become a pharmacy technician?
I wanted to put myself on the path towards a career in healthcare to apply my intellect and skills to helping others.
How long have you been practicing?
I’ve had this role for about 7 years now.
What are you most proud of in your professional career?
My proudest moments so far are earning my Master’s degree while working full time and becoming an EHR Go-Live specialist for pharmacy.
What is your most memorable experience as a pharmacy technician?
My most memorable experience is perhaps the time I was wrapping up a go-live at HCA Houston West Hospital and received hugs and handshakes from the staff before I departed!
Why did you become certified?
While it is now essentially a requirement to be certified as a pharmacy technician, I also became certified because it’s always nice to have your skills officially recognized.
What career advice do you have for others interested in becoming a Pharmacy Technician?
Do everything you can to broaden your horizons within the realm of healthcare and try not to let yourself become stuck in a particular position that doesn’t allow you to make the most of your potential.
