Why did you become a pharmacy technician?
Through my neighbor! He was a pharmacist at a local East Texas Hospital who shared what a pharmacy technician was.

What are you most proud of in your professional career?
I've been able to be the first technician manager position within my organization.
What is your most memorable experience as a pharmacy technician?
Receiving the ASHP Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award in 2024.
Why did you become certified?
It was required in my state. After the fact I've learned how important it is to be certified and educated as a pharmacy technician.
What career advice do you have for others interested in becoming a Pharmacy Technician?
Try it! There have been so many advances in the field that there is a spot for whatever you're interested in. Like to be hands on? Hospital/Community. Like computers? IT pharmacy. Want to play detective? Med reconciliation technician. There are so many avenues!
