GOAL 1

Advocate for laws, regulations, and standards that elevate pharmacy technician roles in patient care.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

1. Lead efforts to standardize pharmacy technician education, training, and registration/licensure requirements at the state and national levels.
2. Work with legislators, regulators, and standards-setting bodies at the state and national levels to help ensure that policies and standards addressing medication use meet the needs of patients and recognize the vital roles of pharmacy technicians on the patient care team.
3. Work in partnership with stakeholders to standardize and advance pharmacy technicians’ scope of practice.
4. Advocate for pharmacy technician appointments on state boards of pharmacy.

GOAL 2

Increase public awareness of the role and value of pharmacy technicians to build interest in the career and enhance recruitment and retention within the profession.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

1. Develop content designed to educate students at all levels of education about the roles and responsibilities of pharmacy technicians and their impact on patient care.
2. Foster interest in the pharmacy technician profession by targeting students and job seekers, showcasing the various opportunities available within the profession.
