Statement of Philosophy
Professional Philosophy: I view pharmacy technicians as indispensable members of today’s healthcare system whose responsibilities continue to expand alongside the evolving demands of pharmacy practice. Technicians contribute directly to patient safety, medication quality, and operational efficiency across health-system, community, and ambulatory care settings. As practice models advance, technicians must be supported through rigorous education, experiential training, and clearly defined career pathways that emphasize accountability, professionalism, and competency-based practice. Elevating the technician role requires alignment between education, regulation, and real-world practice expectations to ensure technicians are prepared to function as skilled healthcare professionals.
Vision for the Organization: I believe the board should continue to advance initiatives that strengthen professional recognition, standardize technician education, and expand opportunities for advanced roles. This includes promoting preceptor development, supporting technician-focused continuing education, and advocating for sustainable workforce models that improve retention and job satisfaction. The organization should also emphasize collaboration with academic programs, employers, and national partners to ensure technician training remains relevant, compliant, and forward-looking. By prioritizing leadership development and evidence-based education, the Board can help position pharmacy technicians for long-term growth and professional credibility.
Commitment to Service: I intend to contribute to the mission, vision, and governance of TPTS through active engagement, thoughtful decision-making, and responsible stewardship of resources. Drawing from my experience in education, health-system practice, and professional service, I will approach board responsibilities with integrity, transparency, and respect for diverse perspectives. I am committed to collaborative governance, fiscal responsibility, and policies that meaningfully support members while advancing the pharmacy technician profession statewide and nationally.
