Statement of Philosophy
I view pharmacy technicians as the operational backbone of the pharmacy enterprise. We have evolved beyond a supportive role to become primary drivers of efficiency, safety, and operational integrity. As guardians of the medication supply chain and implementers of complex technologies, our ability to master intricate workflows and mitigate drug shortages is a vital contribution to the financial health of our institutions and the safety of our patients. Building on this reality, our advocacy must become more data-driven. My vision is for TPTS to lead this transformation by empowering members to build compelling cases that quantify our value in cost savings, error prevention, and improved efficiencies. We must champion the creation of nationally recognized, tiered career lattices with corresponding compensation models that reward expertise in areas like informatics and advanced practice. This directly aligns with TPTS’s mission to advance the profession and support our members' careers. My commitment is to apply my experience in financial oversight, project management, and data analysis to the governance of TPTS. I will bring analytical rigor to the board's discussions, helping translate our vision into actionable results that align with the TPTS strategic plan. I will work to ensure our initiatives are backed by sound planning and clear metrics, serving as a practical bridge between our clinical aspirations and administrative realities. My goal is to help build our future on sustainable, evidence-based strategies that solidify the indispensable role of the pharmacy technician.
