Statement of Philosophy
Pharmacy technicians are essential to modern healthcare, contributing significantly to patient safety, workflow efficiency, and overall care quality. Their expanding skillset is crucial for accurate medication preparation, effective patient counseling, and streamlined medication management. I envision a future where technicians are recognized as integral members of the patient-centered care team, playing key roles in medication adherence, disease management, and public health initiatives. To realize this vision, TPTS must prioritize advanced education and training, advocating for standardized curricula and specialized certifications, including advanced practice pathways. Legislative advocacy is essential to expand scope of practice and ensure appropriate recognition and compensation. Fostering interprofessional collaboration and leveraging technology and informatics are also key to optimizing medication safety and efficiency. I am committed to serving TPTS through active governance and strategic contributions. My leadership experience and dedication to technician advancement will enable effective contributions to board discussions, committees, and advocacy efforts. Through collaborative leadership and a shared commitment to excellence, we can transform pharmacy technician practice and solidify its vital role within the healthcare system.
