Statement of Philosophy
I believe pharmacy technicians are essential members of the healthcare team, playing a critical role in achieving optimal patient care outcomes. It is a privilege to work in a profession where we can directly impact the lives of patients, families, and communities. As a career pharmacy technician, I am committed to empowering others to find fulfillment, growth, and professional pride through education, mentorship, and advocacy. I believe that every pharmacy technician, regardless of practice setting or experience level, deserves access to high-quality training, clear career pathways, and opportunities for growth. While advancement opportunities have increased, reaching them remains uneven and often competitive. It does not have to remain that way. By working together, we have the power to open more doors, expand opportunities for growth, and ensure that every pharmacy technician has the opportunity to succeed. Creating opportunities for technicians to gain new skills, achieve advanced credentials, and contribute meaningfully to patient care strengthens both our workforce and our profession as a whole. I also believe that recognition and advocacy are critical. Pharmacy technicians should be recognized as essential healthcare practitioners, not only by our pharmacy colleagues but across the broader healthcare system. By engaging with our national professional organization, we can strengthen our collective voice, advance technician visibility, expand career opportunities, and build strong professional standards that reflect the complexity and value of our work. My approach is rooted in collaboration, mentorship, and a deep sense of responsibility to those entering and advancing within the profession. I am dedicated to supporting the growth, well-being, and resilience of all pharmacy technicians and to creating a professional community where every technician is valued, heard, and empowered.
